In a rather shocking announcement this morning, Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe announced that the PlayStation Vita would be receiving a port of Disney's Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two.

As you might know, Epic Mickey 2 is a sequel to the first game which appeared exclusively on the Wii, taking advantage of motion controls to paint Mickey's world. This time around, the title was given a multiplatorm release on the PS3, 360, Wii, Wii U, and PC late last year.

After a less than favorable reception from critics, the studio that made Epic Mickey 2, Junction Point, was shut down. Because Junction Point is no longer open, it looks like Sony took it upon themselves to handle the port of Epic Mickey 2 on the Vita, as indicated on the PlayStation Blog.

In Epic Mickey 2, players run through the world of Wasteland as Mickey aims to bring a splash of color back to the world and to do that, he'll need your help. Additionally, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, can be controlled by a second player in a wi-fi co-op mode.

Players will utilize the Vita's features such as the front touchscreen to canvas that is Wasteland, among other exclusive features.

Look out in the future as we cover more about Epic Mickey 2's transition to the PlayStation Vita as it's launch approaches later this year.
