'Cuddlier' Than You | Confessions of A Teenage Fangirl

Myself and one of my friends were feeling down this afternoon and so were being down on ourselves. So I took out my notebook and divided it up into a grid, with a ‘good’ column and a ‘bad’ column for each of us. “Write something,” I said. She went straight for the ‘bad’ column, as did I, and without realising we were doing it, every time one of us added something bad, the other turned it into something positive. For example, one of my ‘bads’ was my weight and she took that and put in the ‘good’ column; “Cuddly!” One of hers was ‘height’ and I put; ‘Can stand on mean people’ in her ‘good’ column.

It was really interesting to see how each of the negative things we thought about ourselves could be turned into something positive. I think it just shows how your opinion of yourself can be different to how those around you see you. You can call yourself ‘ditzy’, but others see you as ‘humorous’.

It helped with the whole ‘New Years Resolution-to be positive’ and the ‘You need to be more positive!’ things. Now instead of looking at myself as being ‘fatter’ I’m now ‘cuddlier’.
