This holiday weekend at the box office sees Disney’s “Frozen” still rake it in, earning $28.8 million for a total to date of $248.4 million. Forbes suggests a lack of family-friendly competition as one reason for its success, as well as strong word of mouth. The top film at the box office remains “The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug,” earning $29.9 million for a total to date of $190.3 million.
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” came in eighth place, earning $10.2 million for a total to date of $391.1 million. Not bad considering female characters supposedly don’t sell action films…
In “race themed” competition, “A Madea Christmas” has fallen to tenth place, earning $7.4 million for a total to date of $43.7 million.
