Hoops for Hunger Initiative | Stevens Athletics | Home of the Cardinals

Hoops for Hunger is a program created by the NHIAA to challenge it’s member schools to raise money for food pantries in a fun and competitive manner. All proceeds collected go directly to the food pantries designated in the school’s respective communities. During every regular season basketball game, member schools are asked to pass a collection bin around to fans and spectators to raise money for the food pantries in the respective school’s community. Each member school across the divisions will compete to see who can raise the most funds in their division. The schools with the most funds raised in their divisions will be recognized at the championship tournament game at either the girls or boys final, and receive a recognition banner to display in their school gym. Last year, over $8,090 was raised for the food pantries in NH by all NHIAA member schools. The program has seen success and has raised over $44,800 in the past 5 years.
