Hunger Games: New Mockingjay location revealed | Mocking Jay ...

COMMENT | While work on the third ‘Hunger Games’ movie, ‘Mockingjay: Part I’ continues apace, fans of the ‘Hunger Games’ series still have their noses to the ground seeking out any morsels of information that can possibly be uncovered. Thus, the production can’t spend a couple of days anywhere without local ‘Hunger Games’ fans unearthing and publicising new information about the ‘Mockingjay’ shoot.

Thus, as filming of ‘Mockingajy’ moved to a new location this week, plenty of fans were in attendance to sniff out this latest titbit of salacious info. According to sources local to Atlanta, Georgia, where ‘Mockingjay’ has been shooting for some time, the cast of the ‘Hunger Games’ series are currently engaged at Pullman Yards within the city. ‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ previously filmed at this apparently abandoned train yard and factory.

It is not clear at the time of writing precisely what scenes are being shot at Pullman Yards, but we do know that for ‘Catching Fire’ optimal use was made of this location. The production team dressed the site externally to use as “The Hob” and also utilised interiors at the yards for location shots in several other scenes. It has also been reported that some of the scenes from ‘Fast Five’, from the ‘Fast and Furious’ series, were also filmed here.

The shooting of scenes at Pullman Yard underlines the amount of preparation that goes into filming even the shortest and apparently most insignificant scenes in movies can be extremely arduous. The shoot at Pullman Yards actually began being set up in October last year, with crews returning to the site to continue their preparation in the last couple of days. It is not clear whether stars of the series such as Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth have been seen here yet; it would appear that the set it still currently being prepared for filming. Meanwhile, Hemsworth and Lawrence were spotted out and about on the town in Atlanta over the last day or so.

‘Mockingjay’ shooting is expected to continue for several months, with the release of the third movie in the blockbuster series scheduled for November.
