Super Bowl Media Day: fans enjoy watching us media at work ...

The Record’s Media Day story from the Prudential Center in Newark by my colleague, Kim Lueddeke:

“For Murray Kornblum, just being in the same room as Peyton Manning and Richard Sherman was worth the price of admission to this year’s Super Bowl Media Day.

“How often do you get to sit in the same building with the guys that you’ve watched for the last 22 Sundays?” said Kornblum, 47, of Monroe.

Of course, Kornblum – and the nearly 10,000 other fans who packed the Prudential Center Tuesday – had no hope of getting close enough to meet Manning or Sherman, much less any of the other members of the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos who took to podiums set up on the arena floor to speak to reporters ahead of the game Sunday.

Fans were relegated to the stands Tuesday, each given their own radio so they could listen in as the players – barely visible over the media scrum – gave interviews below them.

None of that seemed to matter Tuesday.

Dumont native Jim Nubile, a Bronco’ fan since childhood, also had few complaints.

“Oh, it’s awesome to be able to hear everybody,” said Nubile, 47, who plans to attend Sunday’s Super Bowl with his 10-year-old son Sam.

His one quibble?

“Everybody asks pretty much the same question over and over. It’s a little mundane,” said Nubile, who lives in Freehold.

The rest of the story is here.
