Miley Cyrus has revealed that she has no regrets about her failed engagement to Liam Hemsworth.
The Wrecking Ball singer and the Hunger Games actor got engaged in June 2012, but called off their relationship in September.
“I don’t think I realised what 19 truly is, and I got engaged at 19, and I definitely wouldn’t change being engaged,” the 21-year-old told Barbara Walters in Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2013.
“It was so fun wearing a fat rock for a few years. But now, I just feel like I can actually be happy.”
Miley admitted that she used to be nervous about being on her own, but she now relishes her alone time. The former Hannah Montana star said she has also learnt to become more independent and self-assured.
“I was so scared of ever being alone, and I think, conquering that fear, this year, was actually bigger than any other transition that I had, this entire year,” she said.
“I don’t ever want to have to need someone again, where you feel like, without them, you can’t be yourself. I wait for those moments of silence, when I’m just at my house, by myself,” she added.
When Barbara asked her about marriage, Miley said: “I think I’ll want that in the time that it needs to be.”
